What Cadence Is

Cadence is a financial management application for barbers and barbershop owners. It connects to your bank accounts to help you track income, expenses, and prepare for taxes.

What Information We Collect

Information you give us directly: Name, email address, phone number, and business address when you create an account. Business name and type.

Information we collect through Plaid: Bank account names, types, and last four digits of account numbers. Account balances. Transaction history (merchant name, date, amount, category). We use Plaid to connect to your bank. Plaid’s own privacy policy governs how Plaid handles your data and can be found at plaid.com/legal.

Information we collect automatically: Basic usage data to keep the service running. We do not collect Social Security numbers, full bank account numbers, card numbers, or any payment card data.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to provide the Cadence service:

• To display your transactions, balances, and financial summaries.
• To categorize transactions and generate profit-and-loss reports.
• To estimate quarterly taxes based on your income and expenses.
• To send you account-related emails.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your financial data for advertising.

How We Share Your Information

We share data only with the vendors required to operate Cadence:

• Plaid (bank account connection)
• Supabase (database and authentication)
• Vercel (application hosting)
• Stripe (subscription billing)
• SendGrid (transactional email)
• Anthropic (AI-powered transaction categorization)

We do not sell or share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party outside of those listed.

How We Protect Your Information

All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS 1.2 or higher). All data stored in our database is encrypted at rest (AES-256). Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel only, protected by multi-factor authentication.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, and to disconnect your bank account at any time. Email us at info.yourcadence@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. On account deletion, we delete your financial data within 30 days. We may retain billing records for up to 7 years as required by law.

Children's Privacy

Cadence is intended for adults running a business. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes, we will notify you by email and update the effective date above.
